Missions
Montgomery Assembly believes that we, as Christians, must take seriously the command
of Jesus to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel." We believe it is imperative
that every human being be given an opportunity to hear the Good News that Jesus saves.
To that end, we invest our time, finances, prayers, and resources and to the best of
our ability, our very lives.
We are active in many types of outreaches throughout the year, designed to foster
relationships with non-Christians in our community and lead to opportunities to introduce
them to Jesus Christ. We partner with existing ministries & missions organizations
to reach hurting people in all walks of life, volunteering our time and abilities as the
Lord enables us. In addition, we regularly support approximately 70 full-time missionaries
who are committed to taking the life-changing message to the ends of the earth.
Our missions committee works hard all year to heighten awareness, provide opportunities
for involvement, & increase prayer and support for missions and outreach. Short-term
missions trips are offered at various times each year for those who sense a call to the
mission field. Several people from our congregation have been called into full-time missions
and are currently serving in other countries.
Take a walk down our missions hall and you will see a visual representation of the priority
we place on missions and evangelism. While we are grateful for that which has been accomplished,
while there is yet one unsaved person, we are not satisfied with our efforts. With over 20% of
our annual budget dedicated to the work of missions, we look forward to the day when at least
50% of our income will directly support our missionaries. We believe Jesus Christ is the answer
for lost and dying humanity and it is our joy and privilege to proclaim His Lordship to all who
will hear.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him
should not perish, but have everlasting life."
