Royal Rangers is a scouting ministry to boys (and girls in other countries) that has as its goal to reach, teach, and keep boys for Christ. We do this through various activities such as weekly meetings, campouts, field trips, training camps, hiking, etc. In all of our activities, boys are taught Biblical principles through Bible studies and devotions, as well as through the example of godly leaders.
The Royal Ranger program at Montgomery Assembly ministers to boys from grades K-12 and is divided into four groups:
|Ranger Kids (Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade), includes a challenging and fun advancement system encouraging boys through indoor and outdoor activities and games. The weekly lessons and objectives help to reinforce godly principles in their daily lives, and they will have opportunities to achieve many advancement awards that can be placed on an awards vest and worn each week as part of the official Royal Rangers uniform.Commanders: Dale Mackris, Randy Hall, Dave Warndorf|
|The Discovery Rangers program (third, fourth, and fifth grade), features an exciting premier advancement system. In this system boys will learn through camping and non-camping activities. An emphasis is placed on learning at their own pace in a merit-based curriculum.Commander: Jim Hoyer|
|Adventure Rangers (Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade), participate in more challenging camping and outdoor activities while emphasizing skill development, advanced camping, Junior Leadership Training, Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship (FCF), and Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals with national recognition.Commanders: Kirk Mayberry, Troy Miller|
|Expedition Rangers (Nineth through twelfth grade) is considered a high action-packed adventure trail in which the boy is further challenged by advanced camping, camp craft skills, and ministry opportunities.
